The WholeMind Learning Minds
Perhaps you have discovered that your learning style is different from other people?
You might find that the standard way of learning taught in schools just does not fit with your style.
Did you know that we all have different learning styles? Whether you are 16 or 66, in school or approaching retirement, the quality of your life is determined by your ability to learn new skills and facts.
The Wholemind system is applied to all areas of you thinking process. Whether you are a right brain, left-brain, thinker or doer, this process helps you become a Wholemind individual and thinker. And that’s a perfect balance.
There are a number of thinking preferences which can be measured though one of our brain profiles. When you understand your unique thinking style then you can adjust and adapt your study sessions accordingly. For years brain researchers like Dr Kobus Neethling have studied how people tend to prefer one part of the brain more than others. This preference influences how you think, how you communicate, choose to spend your money and of course how you take in information from the world.
Many people may recognise the principle of someone being “left brain” or “right brain” orientated. The Neethling Brain Instruments take this concept into the future by identifying not only 4 separate quadrants but 8 different dimensions of thinking.
What is a left brain and right brain person?
A tale of two children.
I recently had a father and his two children come into my office.
“My son never listens, never tidies his room and is always interrupting people in the class”.
“My daughter, on the other hand, is perfect, she tidies her room, works hard and passes all of her tests. What’s wrong with my son? I brought them up exactly the same way!”
The father was dressed impeccably well and had arrived in a very powerful and expensive car. He was a performer and naturally a bit critical of his sons “slacker attitude”. A bit of a left brainier thinker I guessed.
“I don’t think there is anything wrong with your son, kinaesthetic” I said. “He is not stupid and he is not lazy, but he thinks differently”.
Kobus Neethling, developer of the NBI set of brain profiles once said we should redefine the terms “clever” and “stupid”. I mentioned this to the father. It was bit much, a bit too “right brain” for him.
When I looked at the children it was not difficult to see who the right brain child was, (although I had already seen the results of the brain profile).
The boy sat there with his tie skew, his shirt in a mess his shoelaces loose and had started rearranging my furniture. In the old days that was called being a boy, nowadays we reach for the prescription drugs for ADD and ADHD.
It turned out that the boy was a strong socialkinesthetic” (or physical) learner and we adapted some of his learning techniques accordingly. He didn’t need medication but it was very frustrating for him to simply sit at a desk studying for hours on end.
By the way we did the parent’s brain profiles as well and discovered some potential conflicts in the way that they communicate with each other and with the children. Parenting coaching is a vital part of the wholemind learning minds approach.
We did one parenting coaching session and discovered some areas where they could improve their communication with each other and their children.
All in all, we spent about three hours with each other.
Understanding your leaning styles and thinking styles will revolutionaries the way that you learn, communicate and think.

Stress and emotional difficulties have far more influence over learners performance than actual learning techniques. Learning to manage your emotional state is critical to good academic performance. Is exam anxiety getting you down? I can help
Learn new accelerated learning techniques that match your thinking and learning style.
